Granny Oprah isn’t wrong: the
scripted anti-American narrative the left is selling in the wake of the Parkland
shooting is much like the scripted anti-American civil rights movement in the
1960s.
If you haven’t escaped from
the schoolag mentality just yet, allow me to explicate: far from being a
shining moment in Western Civilization, the civil rights movement of the 1960s
was a socialist (that is to say, communist) incursion into the American legal
system that has proven the death knell of American cities and the last gasp of
the black family. Prior to Rosa Parks, MLK Jr, Jesse Jackson (before the hymietown comments and the pregnant mistress/bastard child) et al, the half-baked system of
legal segregation ensured that everyone had a piece of the pie: whites and
blacks were never “separate but equal,” but they certainly were separate
insofar as the institutions that served them were concerned, a state of being
that allowed them to live parallel to one another and mostly in peace. It was rough going for sure--when has life ever not been rough?--but it
certainly worked for a while, which is more than we can say for “integration.”
Rosa Parks was riding the bus
with white Americans when she made her little show; now Rosa’s descendants don’t
ride the bus with white Americans at all. Hoorah progress!
Forced integration meant that
white parents were forced to choose between living in their old neighborhoods
and watching little Johnny get the stuffing knocked out of him at school every
day or packing up and heading out to the suburbs.
Whites chose the suburban
life by the millions, often sending their children to low-priced private academies
where Johnny and Susie would be relatively safe. Blacks remained behind in the
cities, which were soon euphemistically known as “inner cities” to indicate
that no white was safe there. The fruits of “integration” were plain: very
little in the way of actual integration, but plenty of ethnic cleansing of
Americans from the cities their ancestors built.
See, down here in the Real
World, we judge a policy by its effects, not the propaganda we’ve been fed for
three generations. Maybe I’m more disagreeable and inclined to think most everyone around me is a liar than most, but it is apparent to
me that integration was a social catastrophe and that, for all the flaws of legalized
segregation from both libertarian and ethical standpoints, it was much
preferrable to the destruction of American cities and the suburban sprawl that has
followed.
Incidentally, if you’re
concerned about the continued attacks on American and Confederate monuments,
the civil rights movement is the genesis for that little slice of
anti-Americanism. Americans who lived in cities like Baltimore and Memphis
erected statues commemorating Columbus and Lee; when they left 50
years ago, the people who remained shared no kinship with American heroes. The
people who’ve immigrated to the cities since then lack even black America’s strained
relationship to the descendents of the colonials, and thus is born the iconoclast: a
dim-witted, deracinated, angry, and hopeless breed whose parents probably weren't even in the country way back when Ronnie Raygun told Gorbie to tear down that big ole wall.
Anyway, Oprah’s right: the new anti-American push for gun
control has plenty in common with the anti-American civil rights movement: both
are being run by far-left Jewish operatives (Stan Levison and his fellow commies
in the case of King, Big Media in the case of the 2018 gun-control nonsense), both
are a direct attack on Actual Americans and their values, and both are going to
play a significant role in the sudden demise of the empire once known as these
United States.
The Usual Suspects on the lunatic left and the sickly GOPe would rather virtue signal about
peace-love-dope integration than engage in a sober examination of the disaster
that the forced integration of disparate nations led to step by step and year
by year. They’ll do the same with gun control, if and when they pass it and if
and when it leads to widespread civil disobedience, a massive increase in urban
crime, white suburban and rural neighborhoods that come to look like fortresses, and the formation
of Right-Wing Security Squads.
What a time to be alive. And America—what
a country she was!
